A few weeks ago I stumbled into The Basement and talked shopped with the guys, it was a great time and I enjoyed jumping back into books I hadn’t read in a very long time. Among the books I noticed the ads for a new Sandman book and it immediately piqued my interest. Neil Gaiman’s work evokes a complete metaphysical world where the boundaries are thin and flexible, allowing for readers to instantly accept the characters in the story. The Endless are the personifications of forces, emotions and events that we all encounter in life: Death, Despair, Desire, Delirium, Destruction, Destiny and my main subject- The king of Dreams, Morpheus, The Sandman. I asked Pete and Ramon if they were interested in Sandman and to my surprise they both admitted to never have reading any of the books so I did what any good friend would do- Go get some books to bring them up to speed in time for the new book!
If you are not already aware, Vertigo offers first issues of popular titles for download in PDF format on their website with absolutely no charge to ya. NICE. If it's FREE, it's for me!
