Wrestling Legend The Ultimate Warrior Dead at 54

Just a day after appearing on World Wrestling Entertainment's Monday Night Raw, newly inducted Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior died at the age of 54.

CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION - HOGAN VS ULTIMATE WARRIOR AT WRESTLEMANIA

James Brian Hellwig (who legally changed his last name to Warrior in 1993) collapsed outside of his Arizona hotel on the evening of April 8th while heading to a car with his wife. He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

While no official cause of death has yet been discovered, WWE confirmed the news on its website late Tuesday, and are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstar to ever live, The Ultimate Warrior.

ULTIMATE WARRIOR VS. MACHO MAN

The Ulimate Warrior began his 13 year career in 1985 filled with passionate but insantely bizarre promos and feuds with many of the then-WWF's biggest names, including Hulk Hogan, whom at Wrestlemania VI in a Champion vs Champion match, Warrior defeated for his World Title. Already the Intercontinental Champion, Warrior became the first person to hold both titles, and made history!

The Ultimate Warrior also regularly feuded with "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Maybe the most epic was when the two faced off at Wrestlemania VII in a retirement match, in which Warrior was the victor.

After appearing at the World Wrestling Entertainment's Hall of Fame Induction, and Wrestlemania this weekend, Hellwig made a speech on Monday Night Raw that seems all the more haunting considering his passing a day later.

Speech on Monday Night Raw the day before his death - April 7th 2014

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man's heart one day beats its final beat; his lungs breathe their final breath.

"And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory."
